Bikes: Kevin Benavides won it all


From start to finish; such was Kevin Benavides (Honda CRF450) domain in the Bikes category in this Desafío Guaraní.  The Argentine rider was the one to follow from the very first kilometer and after winning three stages, he got his first victory in a Dakar Series.  He was followed by Martín Duplessis (Kawasaki KLX 450) and Pablo Rodríguez (Kawasaki KLX 450).

Trying to avoid any kind of trouble, Benavides started this morning with the goal of taking care of the bike during the last kilometers of Desafío Guaraní and arrive to the end to get his  first victory in his third participation in his class.

The rider form the province of Salta (Arg) profited from the problems Javier Pizzolito and David Casteu had at the beginning and quickly took the chance to get a good advantage  which he administered in the best way, without demanding much from his pace.

Finally Benavides completed the five days of competition in 18:02.09 and apart from winning the Overall, he also won 50%  of the Entry Fee for Dakar 2016  for being the best in Dakar Challenge classification, which is intended for those riders who have never participated in the hardest race in the world.

The second place was for Martín Duplessis, who had his prize for a very consistent performance.  The podium was completed by Pablo Rodríguez, who was able to overcome a week full of trouble and achieved a great result.
